PhD Students Presentations / Competition

Young scientists and PhD students will be able to present their experiences with FEL, synchrotron and neutron sources via poster or short oral presentations (10 – 15 min). Active participation on the School is recommended and will be awarded by participant grant. The participation grant covers expenditures for an organizational expenses, materials, meals, social dinner, and accommodation of each awarded participant. Participant grant is also possible for students and young scientists without presentation.

Poster Session/Competition

Limited number of posters will be available. The posters will be displayed during the whole school. Poster Session as a part of the School will be organized. Title of the poster contribution will be required in Registration form. Active contribution (oral or poster) will be awarded by participant grant. The area allocated to each poster is approximately 1.0 m x 1.2 m.

* Participants can ask for a participant grant. Students and young researchers (age up to 35 years) will be supported.

Registration Fee

Registration fee of EUR 300 covers organizational expenses, materials, meals, social dinner, and accommodation in a single/double bed room from Sunday, November 24th, 2019 to Thursday, November 28th, 2019. 
In case of shorter stay:
* one-day (without accommodation) is EUR 35,
* one-day (one night) is EUR 75,
* two-days (two nights) is EUR 150,
* three-days (three nights) is EUR 225
and covers organizational expenses, materials and meals.
Only payment for shorter stay can be payed on-site by cash.

Location

Liptov is a historical and geographical region in northern Slovakia with around 140,000 inhabitants. Liptov is one of the most visited regions in Slovakia. There are three public caves: Demänovská Cave of Liberty, Demänovská Ice Cave and Važecká Cave, the biggest ski resort in Slovakia, Jasná, ski park Malinô Brdo, thermal parks of Tatralandia and Bešeňová as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vlkolínec.

Liptovsky Jan is the gateway to the world of history, architecture, thermal waters, tourism, flora and fauna, hunting, fishing and sun untouched charm of underground caves.

Venue

The hotel SOREA MÁJ is situated in the beautiful scenery of the Low Tatras National Park, at the entrance to the Jánska valley. It is situated at the end of the historic village of Liptovský Ján. Interior and exterior is suitable for family recreation, but also for relaxation and recovery stays, sports camps, congresses, seminars or social events. The hotel area includes the well-known summer swimming pool – TERMAL Paradise with a thermal spring. Lovers of cultural heritage or cycling will definitely have a great time.
Accommodation in single and double rooms, family rooms, suites and rooms for disabled clients. Rooms are equipped with a bathroom, toilet, satellite TV, telephone, safe and balcony. Rooms for disabled clients are situated on the ground floor (without a balcony). WiFi connection. Parking next to the hotel.
A varied offer of dishes are served in the hotel restaurant with spectacular views of the West Tatras. Breakfast and dinner are served in a buffet style manner with hot and cold dishes, lunches are served as chosen from the offer. A wide range of cocktails can be enjoyed in the BISTRO café or in the cocktail bar.
